Meet Mary
I’m born and raised in Michigan! From Trenton, to East Lansing, to Ann Arbor—southeast Michigan is my home, but I love connecting with folks through food around and and beyond the state of Michigan.
I’ve been a food and nutrition professional since 2012.
I love helping people optimize their sense of wellbeing through food- either by learning new skills in the kitchen, inspiring curiosity through new recipes, enjoying their favorite foods without guilt, connecting with food growers, or by enhancing their relationship to food & body.
I aim to promote the work of folks who are growing, distributing, or cooking food, and/or organizing for Food Justice, land access, food sovereignty, and equity in the food system.
I hold a Nutrition seat on the Washtenaw Food Policy Council to advocate for policy change that benefits the community.
I’ve been working at a local farmer’s market, Argus Farm Stop, since 2015, connecting with local growers and sharing resources about local food and seasonal eating.
I facilitate discussions and seminars through local partnerships, including fitness trainers, school teachers and administrators, and others looking to incorporate concepts related to Health at Every Size, weight-inclusive care, Intuitive Eating, culinary skills, or local food systems into their curriculums or programming.
My clinical nutrition background is the foundation of my practice. I was a Clinical Dietitian at Michigan Medicine, and covered a variety of areas, including oncology, cardiac, and GI medicine.
My culinary experience is blended into my practice. I’ve been a pastry sous chef and a kids’ culinary instructor. I also organize community cooking classes and demos through the various community centers and businesses I work with.
